The Linux philosophy is 'Laugh in the face of danger'. Oops. Wrong One. 'Do it yourself'. Yes, that's it. Linus Torvalds, 16.10.1996
Talk is cheap. Show me the code. Linus Torvalds, 25.8.2000
For example, the GPLv2 in no way limits your use of the software. If you're a mad scientist, you can use GPLv2'd software for your evil plans to take over the world ("Sharks with lasers on their heads!!"), and the GPLv2 just says that you have to give source code back. And that's OK by me. I like sharks with lasers. I just want the mad scientists of the world to pay me back in kind. I made source code available to them, they have to make their changes to it available to me. After that, they can fry me with their shark-mounted lasers all they want. Linus Torvalds, 9.3.2006
given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow Eric S. Raymond, esej Katedrála a bazar

You can pipe anything to anything else, and usually it'll do something. With most of the standard Linux tools, it'll even do what you expect. Scott Simpson...
The only way to learn a new programming language is by writing programs in it. Dennis Ritchie
I think the major good idea in Unix was its clean and simple interface: open, close, read, and write. Ken Thompson, květen 1999
